Seminar 24/06 – Antoine Lafon and Leo Arnal – M1 internships

For the next storm seminar, Antoine Lafon and Leo Arnal will give a presentation of their internship work.

Antoine Lafon: Real time curvature detection
Abstract The Goal of my internship is to compute curvature of a point cloud collected from an intel Lidar. I use radium engine to visualize the result and ponca to compute the curvature. As it must be fast I parallelize the entire computation on GPU with Cuda.

Leo Arnal: Edges recognition and reconstruction from point clouds.
Abstract The first goal was to use the PIE-NET pipeline, coming from a paper and a git repository, in order to reconstruct curves of little point clouds. PIE-NET provides an end-to-end learnable technique to identify and reconstruct edges, corners and lines. In that way, we could imagine plugging the PCEDNet edge recognition created by the STORM team. Thereby, my work is articulated around the edge reconstruction provided by PCEDNet and the first phase of PIE-NET, and the reconstruction provided by PIE-NET.

This seminar will take place on Friday 24/06 at 12:45pm in room Salle des thèses at IRIT.
