Seminar 14/01 – Mathias Paulin – Differentiable rendering – Reading and discussion

For the next STORM seminar, Mathias Paulin will give a presentation titled : Differentiable rendering – Reading and discussion

Abstract
Differentiable rendering is a very hot topic of research nowadays. If seminal works have given interest on some not-so-simple rendering sub-problems (from radiosity form-factors in the 1990’s to bsdf roughness dependencies en the 2010’s), computing partial derivatives of light transport operators in the general case is still an open problem that exhibits numerous methodological and practical difficulties. In this seminar, we will discuss about one of the most advanced results published in recent years to identify these difficulties, understand how to tackle them and what makes this research area so challenging. Please have a look on the following paper before this seminar : Path-space differentiable rendering

This seminar will take place on Friday 14/01 at 12:30pm in room Salle des thèses at IRIT.
