The emergence of data science has raised a wide range of concerns regarding its compatibility with the law, creating the need for experts who combine a deep knowledge of both data science and regulatory matters. The EU-funded LeADS project (https://www.legalityattentivedatascientists.eu/) is training a cohort of 15 PhDs to become legality attentive data scientists, the new interdisciplinary profession aiming to address such a need.

This conference intends to address innovative technological solutions that are legally compliant and regulations that help expand the legal frontiers according to innovation needs. The sessions will deal with both theoretical frameworks and practical implementations and are intended to an audience formed by technologists and jurists alike, provided that they are eager to understand how to produce compliant digital technologies or innovation-friendly digital legislation.
