The development of argumentation systems has become an increasingly important and exciting research topic in artificial intelligence, with research activities ranging from developing theoretical models, prototype implementations, and application studies. As a result of this interest in argumentation systems, the International Conference on Computational Models of Argument (COMMA) was started with the intention of being a regular forum in which research related to computational aspects of argumentation will be presented. After the successful COMMA'06 meeting held in Liverpool, UK, the second meeting in the series, COMMA'08, held in Toulouse, France, from 28 to 30 May 2008. The proceedings have been published by IOS Press in their Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications series.
