1st Workshop on Quality Assurance for AI Systems

Collocated with TASE 2023

Technology is shaping our lives in a multitude of ways. As information and communications grow more ubiquitous, concerns about security, reliability, and safety grow more important. Recently, AI systems that create multimedia, essays, or even source codes have been introduced and are readily available for anyone. These technologies have raised a significant threat as such AI-generated content is becoming sophisticated, and it is getting harder to identify, distinguish, and attribute the content to humans. In this context, it is more than evident that making AI trustworthy is a critical issue.

To develop trustworthy AI systems, it is necessary to augment existing software engineering methods with additional techniques and approaches specifically designed for the unique challenges posed by AI systems such as complexity, uncertainty, lack of transparency, and ethical as well as social considerations.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from the fields of software engineering and AI to discuss the latest developments and challenges in quality assurance for AI systems. We invite original research papers, experience reports, and case studies related to theoretical and technical aspects of analyzing the safety, security, and reliability of AI systems.

The workshop will focus on, but does not limit to, the following topics:

    • Methods and techniques to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in AI systems
      • risk assessment, threat modeling,
      • data & process analysis,
      • formal verification of code,
      • penetration testing

    • Processes, Algorithms and Models to build secure and robust AI systems
      • rigorous design, coding, verification, validation, and deployment of AI systems
      • adversarial machine learning
      • explainability and transparency in AI systems
      • security and privacy in AI systems
      •
