Post doctoral position

Monte Carlo for wave optics (18 monthes from fall 2012)

In the frame of the french ANR project AMPERE, we offer a 18 month post-doctoral position for working on Monte Carlo techniques for wave optics.
The objective of this post-doctoral position is to develop robust and efficient Monte Carlo estimators for numerical integration of highly oscillatory functions. In the wave optics field, this kind of functions is essential as soon as the phase of the electromagnetic signal must be integrated.
Application to computer graphics will allows to efficiently compute diffraction and interference effects in global illumination methods.
This post-doctoral position is open from now and may start as soon as possible, preferably during fall 2012.

Contact me if you are interested in working on Monte Carlo methods for wave optics and their applications to computer generated images.

No internship proposal now, come back in november 2012.
