DecaDuino

DecaDuino is an Arduino library which provides a driver for the DecaWave DW1000 transceiver and modules based on this transceiver, such as DecaWave DWM1000. Since the DW1000 is based on a Ultra Wide Band (UWB) physical layer, in addition to wireless communication, DecaDuino supports Time-of-Flight (ToF) ranging and can be used as an open framework for protocol evaluation.

DecaDuino has been written by Adrien van den Bossche and Réjane Dalcé at the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT), France.

LocURa4IoT testbed

Overview

Our permanent testbed LocURa4IoT "Localisation and UWB-Based Ranging Testbed for the IoT" is made of 20 DecaWiNos deployed in a single 100 square-meters room. It enables fast prototyping and performance evaluation of networking protocols, such as synchronisation, ranging and MAC protocols based on the IEEE 802.15.4-UWB Physical Layer. As usually with tesbeds, the nodes are controlled by a central server that enables distant programmation (flashing) and log centralisation. The nodes's plane which is 2.65m from the floor and created using a PVC structure. A 7-meters rail enables the automatic movement of a mobile node. All the nodes are 1-hop neighbors and the 380 links are bidirectional. Links are LOS (Line-of-Sight) or NLOS.

At this time, this testbed does not provide any public access.

The testbed has been created thanks to a FEDER/French Midi-Pyrénées Région grant with the GUINNESS project. The testbed is located in the research lab at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Blagnac, University of Toulouse Jean Jaurès, France.

Datasets

The testbed does not provide any public access now but several datasets (testbed nodes' traces) are available. Feel free to use these datasets to simulate synchronisation or ranging protocols, or reproduce our experimentation on your own testbed.
