Short Bio

Elodie Bouzekri studied Computer Science in University Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier. She was graduated in 2017 with a master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction. Since, she is a PhD student in the area of model-based engineering. In her PhD program, Ms. Bouzekri is working on the definition of methods, techniques and tools for the design and development of critical recommender systems. Critical systems are systems for which the cost of a failure is much higher than the cost of its development. Aircraft cockpits are an example of such critical systems. Recommender systems are partly-autonomous systems providing users with recommendations (extracted from large data sets) based on context, user’s profile or other related users previous usage of this data. The case study of the PhD is provided by Airbus Operations and aims at providing input for the design and engineering of Future Cockpits of large aeroplanes. Due to the continuous addition of systems (to increase safety), the complexity of aircrafts increases while we want cockpits to remain as usable and understandable by the flying crew as the current ones. When unexpected behaviors of aircrafts systems is occurring, the pilots have to follow a predefined procedure to manage the system and ensure the continuity of safe operations. In a nutshell, the PhD contribution aims at designing methods, techniques and tools to design usable and dependable recommender system to support procedures management.
