Submissions

Submissions are solicited in the following categories:

Academic Research Papers

Academic Research paper submissions (extended abstracts of 2-4 pages) should describe substantial contributions of novel ongoing work that has produced advanced results including validation of results. Accepted submissions will be presented in the main conference program (20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes for questions), published in the conference proceedings, and authors may be considered for an additional live demonstration in the conference demonstration session.

Industrial papers

Industrial papers submissions (extended abstracts of 2-4 pages) should present practice and experience reports containing good (and bad) practices and/or to present practical evaluations of methods, techniques and tools. Accepted submissions will be presented in the main conference program (20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes for questions) and published in the conference proceedings. Authors may be considered for an additional live demonstration in the conference demonstration session.

Doctoral Consortium

Doctoral Consortium submissions (extended abstracts of 2-4 pages) should present a PhD thesis topic motivated by aims and goals, on the theme automation and supported by some work in-progress and that present original, sound, and advanced results in order to address a well-defined problem. The submission should be accompanied with a free-form CV of the PhD candidate. Accepted submissions will be presented during the conference (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for questions) and authors will be invited to present a poster of their work during a session during the main conference.

 

Submissions Instructions to Authors

Submissions will be reviewed by 3 members of the Program Committee. These extended abstracts will be published in the proceedings distributed during the conference. Authors of accepted industrial and research papers will be asked to extended their contributions according to the discussions held during the conference. These extended versions (up to 10 pages) will published in the ACM Digital Library as post-conference proceedings.

All submissions must be prepared according to the standard SIGCHI publications format.

Guidelines for preparing camera-ready versions of accepted contributions

  • Take into account reviewers' comments in the camera-ready version of your submission;
  • Make sure that your paper adhere completely to the SIGCHI publications format. The number of pages of the submission is not a problem but try to remain close to the size of the original submission.
  • Complete and duly sign the copyright agreement. This copyright must be signed by at least one of the authors and sent as a PDF or an image file (.JPEG or .TIF);
  • Sent by email to winckler@irit.fr an zip file containing the copyright form and the camera ready version in both formats source file (i.e. MS Word) and PDF file no latter than May 2nd 2011. (After that date your paper will not be included in the proceedings).
