The Second International Conference on COMPUTATIONAL MODELS OF ARGUMENT (COMMA'08) SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS Toulouse, France, 28-30 May 2008 www.irit.fr/comma08/ The development of argumentation systems has become an increasingly important and exciting research topic in artificial intelligence, with research activities ranging from developing theoretical models, prototype implementations, and application studies. As a result of this interest in argumentation systems, the International Conference on Computational Models of Argument (COMMA) was started with the intention of being a regular forum in which research related to computational aspects of argumentation will be presented. After the successful COMMA'06 meeting, the second meeting in the series will be held in Toulouse in May 2008. Submissions are now invited for the COMMA'08 meeting with topics of interest including: * Formalisms for argumentation * Argumentation in agent systems * Dialogue based on argument * Computational properties of argumentation * Implementation of argumentation systems * Decision making based on argumentation * Reasoning about action with argument * Argument-based negotiation * Applications (e.g. e-democracy, current affairs, law and medicine) * Systems for learning through argument * Tools for supporting argumentation The timetable for the conference is as follows: * Submission deadline: 10 November 2007 * Notification of acceptance: 21 January 2008 * Final version of accepted papers: 25 February 2008 * Conference: 28-30 May 2008 The proceedings for the conference will be published by IOS Press in the "Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications" series. The length of each submission should not exceed 12 pages. Please prepare and upload your submission according to the instructions available from the conference website. * Conference Chair: Philippe Besnard (IRIT, Toulouse, France) * Program Chair: Anthony Hunter (UCL, London, UK) * Local Organization Chair: Sylvie Doutre (IRIT, Toulouse, France)
