For the next STORM seminar, Pierre Mézières will give a presentation titled : Overview of global illumination techniques in real-time with VPLs and their limitations.
Abstract
In real-time rendering of global illumination, a calculation model proposes to distribute virtual point light (VPL) in the scene. They play the role of caches to capture incident lighting and redistribute it through the scene. I will present a quick overview of VPL lighting techniques for real-time. Then I will focus on the limitations I am interested to overcome and the ideas I’m trying to put in place to make it happen.
This seminar will take place on Friday 17/01 at 12:30pm in room Salle des Thèses at IRIT.
