Seminar 25/03 – Loïc Barthe – Presentation of the MultIFOrm ANR project submission

For the next STORM seminar, Loïc Barthe will give a presentation titled : Presentation of the MultIFOrm ANR project submission

Abstract
This project follows the very successful IM&M and Fold-Dyn ANR projects. It has both
theoretical and technical objectives. It aims at developing theories on 3D field functions in the context of
computer graphics: representation of complex multi-material objects and their animation or deformations.
Target applications include the study of new and more effective solutions for deforming 3D colliding objects
(when animated), for the multi-material representation of complex objects internal structure (objects
composed of several materials, organic objects composed of bones, soft tissues etc),
and for the deformation of multi-material objects. The link is that both deforming field
functions and representing multi-material objects with field functions rely on very closely related
theoretical investigations, especially the study of multivariate field functions. Therefore, similar theoretical
advances may lead to very significant contributions in both topics.

This seminar will take place on Friday 25/03 at 12:30pm in room Salle des thèses at IRIT.
