Sleepless nights produce good ideas…

/ February 1, 2021

The Fabspace took part in the Nuit de l’Info, from 3 to 4 December 2020. Every year his national competition brings together students, teachers and companies to work on the development of a web application. Participants have one night to propose, implement and package a web 2.0 application. This event is an opportunity to meet and discuss with companies, engineers and business leaders who come to support the students and give them some advice to meet the challenges.

In 2020, more than 1400 participants chose to take part in the event called “the funniest serious game”. Among them, 18 multidisciplinary teams took up the challenge proposed by FabSpace: to develop a computer application using geo-spatial data (mainly Earth observation satellite images).

After intense work carried out throughout the night, the challenge was won hands down by the 8 members of the team Is it OK, led by Geoffroy Sabatier. They had to put their technical skills into practice to create a social issue related app within a short period of time. The Toulouse winning team was just ahead of the Polytech Tours team, called “la Mascarade” and led by Jean-Baptiste Huyghe.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in this very special night !
