An interface for Terrier

The objective of this interface is to allow one to tune TERRIER in a graphical way.

TERRIER includes many parameters, either at the indexing (indexing using various bloc size, various weighting schemas) or at the search level (various search, ranking and query reformulation models). The first objective of this interface is to ease parameter settings. Once parameters have been selected through the interface; files that contain the parameters are automatically created (e.g. terrier.properties).

The second objective of the interface is to allow the user to generate simultaneously various runs, by combining different values of parameters. In that way, several indexing and several searches on the same data collection are started through the interface. The user can for example chose one matching model and make the various parameters of this model varying, including various query reformulation models. He can also ask for several indexing at once with various parameters.

Parameters that can be changed appear on the screen shots. This interface has been developped by Jonathan Louedec, under the supervision of Josiane Mothe for Terrier version 3.0 (http://terrier.org/docs/v3.0/).
