Short Bio
Alain Crouzil received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, in 1997. He is currently an Associate Professor in Computer Science at Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier (UT3) and a member of the Computational Imaging and Vision (MINDS) group of the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT). His research interests include computer vision, image and video analysis, and scene understanding.
He was the head of the teaching department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of UT3 (2016-2021). He was the head of the “Image and Digital Audio Engineering” specialty of the Master 2 “Image and Multimedia” (2007-2013) and of the second year of the “Licence d’Informatique” (2009-2014).
He is involved in several teaching collaborations at the international level: with Madagascar (Universities of Antananarivo and Fianarantsoa) between 2005 and 2016 and with Lebanon (Lebanese University) between 2010 and 2021. In 2018, he participated in the establishment of a partnership between UT3 and the French University in Armenia (UFAR) for the creation of double diplomas. He is currently the associated Dean of the IMA Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Faculty of UFAR. He is in charge of the pedagogical coordination of the partnership for awarding the graduates with two State diplomas (Armenian and French): “bachelor degree in Computer Science” provided and ensured by UFAR and “licence d’Informatique” provided and ensured by UT3. In 2021, he participated in the creation of a double master diploma specialized in artificial intelligence that will be implemented in September 2023.
For research, he recently participated to the European project H2020-SEC-2016-2017 VICTORIA (2017-2021). He is currently participating to the European project HORIZON-CL3- 2021-FCT-01-10-101073876 Ceasefire.
