Recherche / Research

I obtained a PhD Thesis (ftp) about distributed systems, more precisely about load balancing, in the same laboratory (IRIT). Since 2000, I changed my research orientation and I became a member of the SMAC team in 2003.

My current research interests are:

  • The main topics of the SMAC team: Adaptive MAS, cooperation and emergence,

  • But also Agent-Oriented Software Engineering. I took part in the RNTL ADELFE (Atelier de DEveloppement de Logiciels à Fonctionnalité Émergente) project and was involved in the AgentLink III AOSE TFG,

  • I took an interest in computational biology with AMAS along two topics: molecule folding (with Bio-S) and modelling of a unicellular organism (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae yeast, with the microMega project),

  • I am also interested in using agent-based simulation for helping designers, notably to find the right behaviour of the MAS they are designing and my latest research topic involves how parameters of an agent-based simulation may be automatically tuned by applying self-organisation principles.

  • This last point will be applied in the Gambits project which deals with Serious Gaming.

A list of my publications are available through the laboratory database here.

This year, I belong to the organising committee of MAS&S'10 workshop held at Mallow'10.
Past years, I took part in the organization of JFSMA'07, Ada Europe'03 and ESAW'04.

This year, I am a PC member of:

  • AOSE'10: 11th International Workshop on Agent-Oriented Software Engineering held at AAMAS'10,

  • AAMAS'10: 9th International Conference in Autonomous Agents and MultiAgent Systems,

  • ICAART'11-10: 2nd/3rd International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence,

  • AOMIP'10: Special track on "Agent-Oriented Software Engineering Methodologies Infrastructures, and Processes" at the 25th Annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (at SAC'10).

Last year, I reviewed for:

  • MAS&S'09: 3rd Multi-Agent Systems and Simulation,

  • ASCWKM'09: 2nd Int. Workshop on Agent Supported Collaborative Work for Knowledge Management,

  • SARC'09: Workshop on Self-Adaptation for Robustness and Cooperation in Holonic MultiAgent Systems and in MultiAgent Systems (at SASO'09),

  • ESAW'09: Workshop Engineering Societies in the Agents World.

  • AOMP'09: Special track on "AOse Methodologies and Processes" at the 24th Annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (at SAC'09),

  • ICAART'09: 1st International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence,

  • ICC'09: Workshop on Complexity in Social Sciences,

  • AAMAS'09: 8th International Conference in Autonomous Agents and MultiAgent Systems,

I was also a PC member for the following past conferences and workshops: AAMAS'08 (International Conference in Autonomous Agents and MultiAgent Systems), AOIS'07-06-05 (Workshop on Agent-Oriented Information Systems), AOM'05-04-03-02, AOSE'08-07-06-05, ATPI'07 (Agent Theories and Practice for Industry, special session of the IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics), AUPC'07 (IEEE Workshop on Agent-Oriented Software Engineering Challenges for Ubiquitous and Pervasive computing atICPS'07), EUMAS'06-05-04-03, ESAW'08-07-06-05-04, LMAS'07: IEEE Workshop on Learning in Multi-Agent Systems, MAS'07-06 (and the special IJAOSE issue that was associated with in 2007), MASUPC'07 (Workshop on Multi-agent system Challenges for Ubiquitous and Pervasive computing, NTMS'07), SARC'08 (Workshop on Self-Adaptation for Robustness and Cooperation in Holonic MultiAgent Systems and in MultiAgent Systems @ SASO 2008), SEAS'05 (Workshop on Software Engineering for Agent-oriented Systems), SELMAS'06-05 (Int. Workshop on Software Engineering for Large-Scale MAS).
