Driven by DCNS and under the seal of approval of the Mer PACA competitiveness cluster, SISMARIS (Système d’Information et de Surveillance MARitime pour l’Identification des comportements Suspects) was launched to promote the development of a complete information system and associated technologies for extended surveillance and analysis of maritime traffic.
This R&D project will investigate technology for extending capacity in detection and surveillance of maritime traffic. Thanks to its innovative technology, this system will be capable of detecting and permanently tracking any type of vessel up to 400km away compared to 25km today with the up-to-date technology.
Specific algorithms will be integrated to detect suspicious vessel behaviours indicating situations such as terrorism, piracy, illegal immigration or fishing, or environmental disasters.
