Overview of the UFRGS Computer Graphics group Research Projects
Summary :
The talk will present an overview of recent research projects conducted by the Computer Graphics group at the Instituto de Informática, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil. The group is mainly involved with visualization research, developing techniques to support different applications ranging from medical applications to hierarchical structures browsing, for example. Recently, the group has started projects on evaluating virtual reality interaction techniques aiming at building a core knowledge to develop techniques for modeling virtual humans for animation as well as for medical applications such as surgeons training.
bio :
Carla M.D.S. Freitas got both MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science from
UFRGS, in 1982 and 1994, respectively. Since 1980 she works at the Instituto
de Informática, with teaching and research activities in Computer Graphics.
Since 1998 she coordinates the Computer Graphics group at UFRGS, which
currently has 6 professors and about 20 students. For details about projects
