The collective decision making environment and its application to the complex EADS aeronautic and defence process
|
This PhD is related to collaborative decision making environments (decision rooms) applied to the EADS (European Aeronautics Defence and Space Company) context. The purpose is to define several specific collaborative decision making workspaces where different types of collaborative activities can be undertaken.
Our ambition is to develop, around specific scenarios and decision-making models, an environment able to support the diversity of computational devices available in large industrial companies such as EADS. Our goal is also to recommend intuitive, ergonomic, modular and flexible means of interaction and visualisation. We will also deal with the notions of ubiquitous computing, plastic user interfaces and aided decision making systems.

Real time and interactive information display systems for mobile operators: task support
|
The first step of this PhD is to identify EADS industrial needs. Three user cases related to aeronautic and space industry where mobile devices bring significant added value will then be selected.
The aim of this thesis is to provide three user cases demonstrators.
To perform these real-time and interactive information display systems for mobile operators, different surveys will be made on human cognition, ergonomics, information representation, Human Machine Interaction, human machine interface, and on Augmented Reality. These will allow us to develop solid basis and comprehensive knowledge about information systems and to support new methods and tools for information integration and interaction. The way to provide information to the mobile user would be designed using Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality to focus on the visual perception.
