Location

The ESAW'04 Workshop will take place in the IRIT (Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse) building, in the auditorium.

IRIT is located in the University Paul Sabatier (UPS) in Toulouse, its web site provides instructions to get to the campus:

Travel Arrangements

By Car ...

The main highways leading to Toulouse are the A61 from the east of Europe via Lyon, the Mediterranean coast and Montpellier or from the south via Barcelona, A64 from San Sebastian and the Pyrenees, A62 from Paris and Bordeaux.

Toulouse is also circled by a peripheric motorway.

By Train ...

Toulouse main train-station (Gare "Matabiau") is situated at about 5 miles from where the conference takes place.

By Plane ...

The airport of Toulouse-Blagnac is at about six miles from downtown.

To reach the city, you can get the shuttle bus which can bring you to downtown in about twenty minutes. The price of a one-way ticket by the shuttle bus is 3.9 euros, a two-way one costs 5.9 euros and is available for two months.

Stops of the shuttle bus are: Compans-Caffarelli (near the bus stop "Cité administrative" of the line number 24, Jeanne d'Arc (between Compans-Caffarelli and the Matabiau train station, near the bus stop "Jeanne d'Arc" of the line number 24), Jean Jaurès (near the very center and the subway (station "Jeanne d'Arc") -there is just one line-) and the Matabiau railway station (station "Marengo-SNCF" of the subway).

If you want you can also get a taxi to reach the city center, the fare by taxi will cost about 25 euros (price not guaranteed).

How to reach the University Paul Sabatier and IRIT?

UPS

From the "Gare SNCF Matabiau"

Take the underground to reach the "Esquirol" station.

Then:

Take the bus number 2 "Rangueil-Université" from the Esquirol square (close by a shop named "Midica"),
(or) Take the bus number 24 "Rangueil-Cité U" from the street Alsace-Lorraine,
(or) Take the bus number 92 "Rangueil-Cité U" from the Esquirol square (opposite side of the street wrt the bus 2).

Depending on the hour, the travel can take from 30 to 45 minutes (sometimes more...).

Or take a taxi.

From the Ring Road

From the inner ring road: Exit number 20, in the direction of "Complexe Scientifique de Rangueil".

From the outer ring road: Exit number 23, in the direction of "Université P.Sabatier, Ramonville St-Agne".

Social Event

The social event will be held in the Hôtel d'Assézat, a mansion which hosts the Fondation Bemberg, a collection of paintings from Renaissance to nowadays.

A "rendez-vous" is arranged in front of the hôtel at 19:20 on Thursday 21st, October.

The guided visit of the Bemberg collection will begin at 19:30.

And the dinner will take place in the Hôtel d'Assézat after the visit.
