Title: Model-Based Engineering of a Broad Range of Industrial Applications and Challenges

Speaker: Tao Yue (Simula Research Laboratory, Norway)

    Abstract:

  1. Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) are the future generation of highly connected embedded systems having applications in diverse domains including Communication, and Oil&Gas. Employing Model-based Engineering (MBE) is believed to a scalable and practical solution to handle increasing complexity of developing CPSs. However, relatively few industrial studies have been reported in the literature regarding the application of MBE to develop large-scale systems, and more specifically CPSs, covering different phases of a CPS development lifecycle. In this talk, I will present our experiences and insights gained from investigating the application of MBE at different industrial domains (i.e., Communication, Oil&Gas, Maritime, Automated Material Handling and Geo Sports), for addressing different industrial challenges (i.e., Requirements, Architecture and Design, Testing, Product Line), and using diverse MBE technologies.
