Projects, Tools and Applications
The SMAC team has implemented, among other things, several tools and applications:
- A tool for flood forecast which has been installed on the SOPHIE platform (STAFF project, in French only) which is used by the Environment Ministry to forecast floods on the river Garonne.
- An e-commerce tool implemented during a European project (ABROSE project). It provides an automatic composition of services and improves the knowledge of offered services during the exchanges. In this system providers and customers profiles are maintained in a dynamic way based on the interactions contents.
- A tool for designing mechanical systems within a European project in aeronautics (SYNAMEC project). Agentified mechanical components self-organise in order to find a solution by modifying their parameters, by creating new mechanical components according to needs or by modifying the system topology. The design process starts when the designer adds problem elements: the goal to achieve, envelope, constraints, mechanical components that are known etc.
- A tool for preliminary design of planes in which agents represent disciplines, design parameters and plane performances (MASCODE application). Plane design is a multi-disciplinary, multi-objective optimisation problem which consists in finding the values of parameters describing a plane and its performances depending on constraints given by designers. Agents, by using a disciplinary knowledge and a cooperative behaviour, collectively find parameters values that satisfy constraints and performances without specifying a global objective function. This system can adapt a solution dynamically after requirement changes coming from designers.
- An agent API generator, MAY, which is an Eclipse plug-in.
- JavAct, a Java middleware for mobile adaptive agents.
